To confront the reluctance toward affordable housing, our project, WOODLOT, endeavours to overcome the resistance by reimagining the terrain as a lush woodlot. Instead of imposing monolithic structures for masses, we embrace diversity through a mosaic of dwelling units. In Toronto, the gradual disappearance of woodlots underscores the urgency of such initiatives. Our housing vision celebrates the symbiotic relationship of nature and design. Each unit, a unique entity, but also part of a greater whole, adds characters and vitality to communal spaces. Through subtle shifts in form, we blur the lines, inviting nature to intertwine with the urban fabric. This diagonal landscape promises a harmonious coexistence, breathing new life into neighborhoods. WOODLOT invites us into a future where every home is a testament to the beauty of balance-- where architecture and nature blend in graceful harmony.
