Cacao Circles
Academic Work (Fall, 2024 - Winter, 2025) • Thesis Studio Project

Cacao in Thailand extends beyond a commodity—it is a site of contested economies, where corporate monopolies dictate monoculture and pricing. Enter CACAO CIRCLES: a network of small farmers and producers, disrupting this system with a decentralized, ethical supply chain. This thesis charts a regional strategy, connecting farms, provinces, and a Bangkok hub, ensuring value returns to its origins. By integrating agriculture, commerce, community, and hospitality, cacao is repositioned as a resilient, farmer-driven model for local economies. Beyond the chocolate bar, this thesis unveils a new ecosystem for more sustainable cultivation and a step toward equitable trade.
